Historical

Historical fiction encompasses works of fiction wherein the primary characters and events are historically based. Generally, the bar for this is fairly high. Authors can either portray a historical character's life in much greater detail than actually known, or place a fictional character in the middle of historical events, usually with the opportunity to observe the pivotal historical figures but not to substantially effect the outcome.
